LED TV Sizes and Accessories

In other sections of our site we have examined what LED TVs are, how to buy these televisions, and even some of the benefits to owning LED TVs.  In this section we are looking at the range of sizes LED TV technology can be found in, as well as some of the accessories you might want along with the TV.

Sizes:

LED TVs are currently being produced at 32 inches up to 70 inches.  There is always a question when it comes to size- what is the measurement referring to?  Any time you see a measurement on flat screen televisions whether it is LED TVs or plasma the dimension is diagonal.  In other words from one corner of the screen to the diagonal corner will be the measurement.  The inches do not include the plastic casing of the television screen, nor does it mean the square foot or cubic foot of the television.  It is simply telling you that there are 32 inches from the left bottom corner to the upper right corner of the screen.

The size of 32 inches is the smallest at the moment for reasons of demand.  It is possible to manufacture a smaller television screen, but most families and individuals want at least 32 inches in their living space.  Anything smaller is usually too small.

A good rule for determining the size of the LED TV to buy is to measure the distance between your chair and where the TV will be mounted.  The more distance between you and the screen the larger the television you should have.  In a room with five feet or less between you and the screen even 42 inches can be too much.

Size is only a portion of what else you need to know about LED TVs.  There are also some accessories you should be aware of when it comes to these screens.  Like LCD screens the current cables used are HDMI to produce an HD signal.  The numbers of inputs on the television are important so that you can plug in cameras, game consoles, and other television components.  Certain manufacturers provide more inputs and outputs than others.

Among accessory options are also LED TV stands.  You can search out LED TV brackets specific for the technology or go for universal brackets.  Whether you mount the LED TV on the wall or set it on a table, you should have the screen anchored properly to avoid damage.  The flat screen and light weight makes it easier to tip the screen over, especially if you have children or pets.  You need to find a bracket that is the right size for the television you have just purchased.  Most brackets are made of metal, where some of them will expand to the size you need.  Also, with LED TV brackets you have swivel designs to help you change the television angle for optimal viewing.

Based on the LED TV technology, size ranges, and accessories you have important decisions to make for your next television set.
